This note has just gone out to all paid club members - closing loop here too.

Countdown to Cosford - Scirocco Register National Meet 2015 - Saturday 8th August 2015

We’re a matter of days before our biggest gathering of the year as a club.

Once again we’re delighted to be heading to RAF Cosford for the main event with different groups heading to a local campsite or hotels for the nocturnal elements of the weekend.

Events kick off with a 10.00am rendezvous at Telford Services, M54 Junction 4.

At approx 10.30 cars will begin to leave for the 15 minute drive to RAF Cosford. This is not an organised convoy but if people want to drive as part of a group then they are free to do so as long as normal road rules are observed - junctions and traffic lights in particular. It’s not a race and we’re keen for everybody to get to Cosford in one piece. Please take particular care when re-joining the M54 at Junction 4 for the drive to Cosford.

Once at Cosford follow the signs for the Scirocco Register meeting - we will also have a few club volunteers directing traffic as you approach the designated parking area between the main hangars. Please follow the instructions that the team give you. POLITE REQUEST - space is always limited at Cosford. Whilst we always welcome our Corrado cousins please can other non Roccos avoid parking within the main club group. The team will direct you accordingly.

Late arrivals may find that they can’t park in the club area due to ‘our area’ also being a spill over area for wider museum visitor parking.

As in previous years access to the museum is free of charge and we’re able to use the venue for free as a club. However people will have to buy a pay and display parking ticket. They were about £3.50 for all day parking last year - come with change and note that the venue staff do check for non-display.

Later in the day we will gather the group together for a few awards including the inaugural Ian Croucher ‘Club Hero’ award. We will also be encouraging people to purchase special stickers on the day. All proceeds to the charity that Ian did so much work for - Help for Heroes. We won’t be chugging due to on-site restrictions now in place re charity fundraising so please do be discreet - look out for the club gazebo.

We’re also delighted to confirm that our friends at Trimsport and VW Heritage have donated prizes for other awards and freebees to accompany the on the day, on-site membership renewal offer.

At the end of the afternoon the group will head to either the regular campsite or a local hotel. The club will be supplying a few cold drinks for members during the evening. Campers should bring their own food.
